Video & Diary Studies
I have used Video & Diary Studies as a longitudinal form of research to follow users interacting with a product or service over a period of time.

This method of research involves following users of a product or service and asking them to complete tasks with the product or service, in line with their daily routine.

Participants most commonly record their diary entries using video uploads and this is a form of Qualitative research that can be studied to understand patterns of behaviour and the motivational and behavioural reasons for their activity.

I started my career pioneering one of the first versions of Video & Diary study concept, with the Big Sofa Product. The software allowed users to upload video of themselves completing tasks so that researchers could analyse their behaviour in longditudinal studies.
